Punjabi Cultural Society’s annual flagship event “RANGLA PUNJAB – 2024,” to celebrate Vaisakhi festival, held on April 20th. at Copernicus Center in Chicago was a dazzling extravaganza of Punjabi culture and community. More than 1200 community members and guests from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin flocked to watch more than 350 local talent in authentic, traditional, colorful costumes, who presented energetic performances of more than 30 varieties of Punjabi folk dances Bhangra and Giddha, solo songs, “boliaan” on “Dhol” beats music, performed by young children, youth and adults, non-stop for about 5 hours. This memorable event was a delightful blend of culture and community, and a huge success by all measures, evident from the complements and applause from the audience. It was truly like a mini-Punjab in Chicago.
